Gesture-Based Navigation in Graph Databases - The Kevin Bacon Game
نویسندگان
چکیده
Motion sensing devices like Microsoft’s Kinect offer an alternative to traditional computer input devices like keyboards and mouses. Graph databases can naturally make use of gesture control as traversing graphs can easily be described by swiping or pointing gestures. In our demo we traverse the Internet Movie Database (IMDB) using a Kinect interface with the control logic in our data stream engine AnduIN. The gesture detection is done based on AnduIN’s complex event processing functionality.

designing and implementing a 3D indoor navigation web application
During the recent years, the need arises for indoor navigation systems for guidance of a client in natural hazards and fire, due to the fact that human settlements have been complicating. This research paper aims to design and implement a visual indoor navigation web application. The designed system processes CityGML data model automatically and then, extracts semantic, topologic and geometric...
متن کاملOn the Solvability of the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon Game - A Faster Graph Diameter and Radius Computation Method
In this paper, we will propose a new algorithm that computes the radius and the diameter of a graph G = (V,E), by finding bounds through heuristics and improving them until exact values can be guaranteed. Although the worst-case running time is O(|V | · |E|), we will experimentally show that, in the case of real-world networks, it performs much better, finding the correct radius and diameter va...
متن کاملCS599: Structure and Dynamics of Networked Information (Spring 2005) 03/23/2005: Small-World Networks
The fact that social networks seem to be small worlds has long been the subject of anecdotal observation. The hypothesis that “any two persons in the world are connected by a small chain of intermediate social acquaintances” is known as the small world phenomenon. The hypothesis was first tested by Stanley Milgram in 1967 [2]. Milgram found that in the experiment he conducted, there were an ave...
متن کاملA Wearable Gesture Recognition System for Natural Navigation Interfaces
Ambient intelligence applications pose the challenge of enabling real-time interaction with virtual environments in a natural manner. Gesture recognition based on body-mounted accelerometers has been proposed as a viable solution to translate patterns of movements that are associated with user commands, thus substituting point-and-click methods or other cumbersome input devices. These wearable ...
متن کاملInvestigating the Usability of the Leap Motion Controller: Gesture-Based Interaction with a 3D Virtual Environment
The Intelligent Tutoring Group at the University of Canterbury has created a 3D virtual environment for stroke rehabilitation, specifically, training the prospective memory in a safe and familiar setting. This honours project involved the creation of a gesture-based interface via the Leap Motion for navigation and interaction within this environment, in the 3D game creation engine Unity. A stud...
